NuttyB configurator compatibility and boss unit spawning in BAR

NuttyB mods are popular custom game modes. When they conflict with other modifications like evolution commander or base builder, knowing the cause saves hours of troubleshooting.

NuttyB configurator breaks with evo comm

The evolutionary commander is built into the NuttyB script itself. You do not need to enable it in the in-game options — doing so causes duplicate initialization and breaks the turret spawning. For base builder compatibility, the issue is more complex and depends on which version of each mod is active. Check the NuttyB community configurator for the current compatible version matrix.

Boss unit spawning behavior

Some mods like NuttyB Raptors include boss units that can spawn additional entities. If you decoded the unitDefs and cannot see the spawning mechanism, it might be handled by a Lua script outside the unit definition rather than a direct unit property.

In skirmish mode, you can give any unit using cheat commands. In multiplayer, boss spawning is entirely controlled by the mod configuration and preset settings.

Figuring out tweaks without a crutch app

Players attempting to use tweaks without a graphical helper application need to construct the exact !bset command by hand. The command syntax is !bset tweakunit followed by the encoded value. Using just !bset tweak without specifying tweakunit or tweakdefs will silently fail.

Read the mod documentation

Most tweak conflicts come from not reading the mod page first. NuttyB has extensive configuration documentation. Read it before mixing mods.
