BAR rating did not change after a short loss
Sometimes a fast game ends with no OS rating change at all. If you lost or won but your rating stayed exactly where it was, the game probably did not count toward ranked calculation. Here is what to check and why it happens.

When ratings freeze after a quick game
A game that finishes in under fifteen minutes frequently does not register for rating changes. The matchmaking system applies minimum duration thresholds to prevent rating manipulation through intentional short surrenders. If someone drops almost immediately, the system often invalidates the match for ranking purposes.
The ranked flag
Every lobby has a ranked setting. If this is set to zero or turned off, the game runs normally but no one gets rating points or loses them. This is the most common reason players see zero rating movement after a match. Always verify the lobby was set to ranked before assuming the system failed to update.
Update delay
Even valid ranked games do not update ratings instantly. The rating server processes results in batches. A delay of a few minutes between the game ending and the rating reflecting is normal. If the rating still has not moved after the next match, that is when to investigate further.
Players can check their current rating on the BAR server at server4.beyondallreason.info by logging in with their BAR credentials. This serves as a separate confirmation point if the in-game display seems stale.
Resource team mechanics and why they matter
BAR resource sharing works differently than older RTS games. You cannot currently tax or charge a fee on resource transfers between teammates. This is an engine-level limitation rather than a design choice. The resource system supports direct sharing and transfers, but imposing a cost on shared resources is not supported by the engine architecture.
Getting clarity
If your rating repeatedly fails to change across multiple legitimate ranked matches that last a reasonable duration, check the BAR GitHub trackers for known rating calculation bugs. The developers track these issues openly and often post fixes or workarounds.
Find a stable team environment
Rating confusion is less stressful when your team communicates. Creed of Champions runs coordinated team games where everyone is on the same page about lobby settings, ranked status, and game expectations.
