Live spectating
Open the multiplayer browser in BAR and find an active match where the host allows spectators. Click join as spectator. You will enter the game and can freely move the camera around the entire map. Follow any player by clicking their name on the score panel.
Live games in game modes like Territorial Domination are especially educational. The large-scale battles show you fleet compositions, positioning patterns, and macro decisions you cannot see in small skirmishes.
What to watch for
Do not just watch explosions. Follow the economy. Notice when players build new extractors versus when they build additional factories. Watch how they transition between tech tiers and how they respond to pressure.
High-ranked players make decisions three minutes before those decisions become visible. If you catch yourself thinking why did they build that, the answer was two minutes earlier when they saw an opponent move.
Spectate etiquette
Do not chat during competitive matches. Do not give away information to either player. If you are spectating friends playing, keep commentary in a separate channel. Respect the players on both sides.
Many players in BAR actively welcome spectators. Some even ask experienced players to spectate and provide post-game feedback. Take advantage of those invitations.
Using spectate time for rank progression
BAR counts spectating time toward your player profile, but at half the rate of active playtime. If you have three hours of spectating, that counts as one and a half hours toward chevron progression. Watch actively, not passively, and you still progress your account.
Creed of champions
Team spectating after matches is a Creed of Champions tradition. Everyone watches the replay together, discusses key moments, and extracts lessons. This collective analysis accelerates improvement for the whole group.
[Crd] Creed of Champions is a wonderful place to learn the game from scratch or improve your skills as a veteran player. The community is very open and friendly.
