How BAR Ticks excel as cheap recon units near frontlines

Ticks in Beyond All Reason are fast, absurdly cheap, and provide critical vision. Their low health means they feed almost no metal when destroyed while still giving your team eyes on enemy positions.

Why Ticks work as scouts

Ticks cost almost nothing and move fast. A sniper shot kills most frontline units, and a single Tick can tank that shot at one hundredth of the cost of a Welder. Spreading Ticks across the front gives constant vision updates without significant resource drain. Their speed means they can close gaps quickly and spot incoming pushes before the main force arrives.

The low hit point pool actually works as an advantage. Cheap units dying do not feed meaningful metal to the enemy. Expensive frontline scouts that die hand the opponent a metal bonus along with the information they gathered.

Getting replay reviews from mentors

BAR has an active mentor system. Upload your replay to beyondallreason.info/replays where matches are stored automatically unless you played privately. Then create a thread in the BAR Academy Discord channel and paste your replay link. Mentors review games when able and provide feedback on positioning, economy management, unit composition, and decision-making.
