BAR resign protocol: when teammates refuse to vote and self-destruct happens

Sometimes a BAR match becomes unwinnable and the resign vote fails to pass. Players facing this situation occasionally self-destruct their commander rather than drag out a dead game.

Why votes fail

Resign votes require a majority. Even in obviously hopeless situations, one player can drag the match on by refusing to vote yes. Reasons vary: some players want to practice defending, some are distracted, some genuinely do not realize the position is lost. Communication usually resolves the standoff faster than staring at the resign dialog.

Self-destruct is not rage quitting

When a player self-destructs their commander after failed resign votes, they are making a tactical decision to end the game. Commanders stand twenty meters tall and represent a massive resource investment. Destroying one intentionally signals that the player considers the match functionally over. It is not griefing if the position was already lost and the resign system failed.

Bug reporting and bug chat

BAR maintains dedicated channels for bug discussion and reporting. If a bug is causing match-ending problems, the bug report system routes issues to developers who can triage and fix them. Use the bug reporting channels rather than general chat for faster response times.

Creed of Champions and clean endings

Creed of Champions trains players to handle losing situations with discipline. When a match is over, the respectful move is to resign cleanly and move to the next game. Everyone wastes time when one player refuses to acknowledge reality. The community develops stronger bonds when losses are handled gracefully and wins are celebrated without gloating.

[Crd] The focus of Creed is on teamwork, communication, and the willingness to get better. A lot of players don't want to take orders, so finding some of those who like taking orders, being told what to unit, is the hard part.
