Self destruct and reclaim denial
Self destructing units within enemy range so opponents cannot reclaim them falls into a rules grey area. Some players consider it acceptable denial strategy. Moderators note that it can be hard to distinguish strategic self destruct from intentional match throwing. One documented case resulted in a suspension that was successfully appealed.
If you lost sea control and want to deny metal reclaim before enemy expansion, the action is borderline. Use caution with bulk self destruct commands that eliminate large portions of your army.
Auto resign from mass self destruct
Bar auto resigns players who self destruct too much of their own force. If you select and self destruct everything because you lost sea control, the system interprets this as intentional quitting and triggers auto resign penalties. The ban system does not distinguish between griefing and desperate denial.
Reporting and the replay website
Players report rule violations through the community relationships page or by linking match replays from the main website. The reporting system accepts replay links as evidence so moderators can verify exactly what happened in game.
Creed of Champions and clean play
Creed of Champions members play above the rules line, not on it. Denying reclaim through mass self destruct might be technically allowable, but it creates poor game experiences for everyone involved. The community values sportsmanship and honest effort even in losing positions.
[Crd] It is so easy to get on with everyone and there is zero toxicity. Just fun games of BAR which can have quite a toxic community usually.
